Grand Seiko

Grand Seiko began in 1960 as Seiko's effort to produce a Japanese watch that could equal the accuracy and finishing of leading Swiss makers. Long sold as Seiko's top line, it was established as a separate brand in 2017. Mechanical calibres are made at a studio in Shizukuishi, while Spring Drive and quartz models come from Shiojiri. The brand is recognised for sharply faceted, mirror-polished cases, textured dials inspired by Japanese landscapes and seasons, and Spring Drive, a mainspring-powered movement governed by an electronic regulator.
