The rules for using Hey Man, Nice Watch, written to be read. By using the site you agree to them.

What the site is

Hey Man, Nice Watch is an independent reference about wristwatches: the watches public figures are seen wearing, a directory of brands and the shops that sell them, and collections where people show their own watches. We are not connected with, or endorsed by, any watch brand, retailer, studio or person mentioned on the site. Brand names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify their products.

Accounts

• You must be at least 16 to create an account.
• Give a real email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
• You're responsible for what is done with your account.

What you add to the site

When you contribute a sighting, add a watch to your collection, upload a photo or send a correction, you confirm that:

• it is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and written in your own words;
• you took any photo yourself or have the owner's permission to publish it;
• it follows the contribution guidelines, including our privacy rules.

You keep ownership of what you contribute. You give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to publish it on the site and in material promoting the site, to edit it for accuracy, length and style, and to keep facts you contributed in the reference database. You can ask us to remove your photos and stories at any time.

We review contributions before they appear and may edit, decline or remove anything, at our discretion.

What isn't allowed

• Information about private individuals, or anything that shows or names a child.
• Precise locations of people — homes, hotels, schools or workplaces — or anything that could help someone find them.
• Text or images copied from other websites, magazines or books.
• Replicas, counterfeit or stolen watches, and anything illegal.
• Phone numbers, addresses or outside links in collection listings (buyers contact sellers through the site).
• Spam, harassment, impersonation, or attempts to break or overload the site.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Buying and selling between collectors

Collectors can mark a watch as for sale and be contacted through the site. Hey Man, Nice Watch takes no part in any sale: we don't handle money, take a commission, check the watches or guarantee what a seller says. Any sale is entirely between buyer and seller. Please take the usual care — meet safely, verify the watch and its papers, and use a secure payment method. Tell us about any listing that looks wrong and we'll look into it.

The directory

Shop details come from the shops' and brands' own public information. We describe a shop as an authorised dealer for a brand only where the brand's own store locator (or similar evidence) shows it, and we show when that was last checked. Details change, so please confirm with the shop before you travel or buy. Any paid placement is clearly labelled and never changes the order of our lists.

Accuracy

We check sightings and label how sure we are (Confirmed, Likely or Unverified), but information on the site is provided as it is and may contain mistakes. It is not professional advice about the value, authenticity or condition of any watch. If you spot an error, please tell us.

Removing content

If something on the site is yours and was published without permission, is about you, or breaks these rules, see Images, rights & takedowns. We hide content promptly while we look into a request.

Links to other websites

We link to brands, shops and sources we don't control, and aren't responsible for their content or practices.

Our responsibility

We work to keep the site available and correct, but can't promise it will always be. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from using the site, from information on it, or from dealings between users. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection law that can't be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; significant changes will be announced on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
