Mido

Mido was founded in 1918 by Georges G. Schaeren in Biel/Bienne and is today based in Le Locle. An early milestone was the 1934 Multifort, which combined water resistance, shock protection and an anti-magnetic balance spring in one watch. The brand later developed the Ocean Star divers, the Commander with its one-piece case and the Baroncelli dress line, and often cites architecture as a design influence. As part of the Swatch Group, Mido concentrates on automatic watches, many fitted with long-power-reserve calibres and some certified as chronometers.
