Piaget

Piaget began in 1874 when Georges-Édouard Piaget set up a workshop making movement components in La Côte-aux-Fées, a village in the Swiss Jura where the company still produces movements. From the 1950s it became known for very thin mechanical calibres and for gem-set and hardstone-dial watches, later expanding into jewellery with workshops in Geneva. Richemont's predecessor acquired it in 1988. Its best-known watch lines are the ultra-thin Altiplano and the Polo, a sports watch with a gadrooned case and bracelet first shown in 1979.
