Rado

Rado is a Swiss watch brand based in Lengnau, near Biel/Bienne. It grew out of Schlup & Co., a movement workshop founded in 1917 by the brothers Fritz, Ernst and Werner Schlup, which began selling watches under the Rado name in the 1950s. The brand became associated with hard, scratch-resistant materials: the 1962 DiaStar used a hardmetal case, and from the 1980s Rado made extensive use of high-tech ceramic in cases and bracelets. Rado belongs to the Swatch Group, where it sits in the upper mid-price range.
