Swatch

Swatch was launched in 1983 as a low-cost Swiss quartz watch with a plastic case and a reduced number of parts assembled by machine, a response to Asian competition that had weakened the Swiss industry. Its colourful, frequently changing designs turned the watch into a fashion accessory and collectible, and the brand gave its name to the Swatch Group. Beyond plastic quartz models it offers the Sistem51 automatic movement, bioceramic cases and collaborations with its sister brands, notably the MoonSwatch with Omega and the Scuba Fifty Fathoms with Blancpain.
