Timex

Timex descends from the Waterbury Clock Company, set up in Connecticut in 1854 to make low-cost clocks. The business went on to mass-produce affordable pocket watches and wristwatches, adopted the Timex name for its watches around 1950, and became known for toughness through long-running television advertising. Now headquartered in Middlebury, Connecticut, the privately held Timex Group sells digital sports models such as the Ironman, simple quartz field watches like the Weekender, and a growing number of reissues drawn from its own archive, including the Q Timex and Marlin lines.
